 On my visit to the House of Commons last week, entering the airport security they have to get through the doors of Portcullis House, I was introduced to a man representing an organisation that works with new mums.
21/11/2014 Seminar at the House of Commons Photo from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portcullis_House#mediaviewer/File:Westminster_Station_Building.jpg Yesterday I was invited to attend a seminar at the House of Commons (Portcullis House) organised by 1001 Critical Days and Foundation Years Information and Research as a joint programme: Seizing the day to improve the nurture of our youngest children. It was also a day in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of UNCRC (United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child).
13/11/2014 Yin and Yang doulas I am very grateful to have studied with a great teacher, David Nassim in the last year. David’s website Health Instinct has a wealth of articles that he has written, a shop where you can buy his books and also a list of links to some very interesting sites across the globe.
 There has been and still are a lot of debate among doulas about what a doula should do if she was at a birth and her clients turned around to her and told her that they were not planning to call a midwife but instead give birth unassisted. Or whether doulas should or shouldn't support a couple that plan from the start to give birth without medical support; free birthing as it is also known.
