The BirthBliss Doula Academy self-paced online doula training course is a flexible, fully online programme designed to support people who want to become confident, well-prepared doulas.
This online doula course allows you to study at your own pace, from anywhere in the world, making it suitable for those balancing work, family life, or other commitments. Students receive lifetime access to all course materials, including expert-led video lessons, in-depth learning content and downloadable resources that can be revisited at any time.
Although the course is online, learning is not done in isolation. Students are invited to live Zoom sessions and have access to the monthly Doula the Doula support sessions. There are also optional events and community meet-ups throughout the year, offering ongoing opportunities for connection, discussion and continued learning.
By enrolling in The BirthBliss Doula Academy self-paced online doula training course, you become part of a warm, supportive community of like-minded people who share a commitment to respectful, woman-centred doula care and ongoing learning.
After completing the full BirthBliss Doula Academy course, including the required pre- and post-course module work, students receive a Diploma in Birth and Postnatal Doula Support. Doulas can then choose to continue towards Certified BirthBliss Doula status through our mentoring and certification pathway.

The BirthBliss Doula Academy self-paced online doula course can be completed entirely at your own pace.
Some students choose to move through the course in 2 to 4 weeks, while others spread their learning over several months to fit around work, family life, or other commitments. There are no time limits or deadlines and you have lifetime access to the course materials.
This flexibility allows you to learn in a way that feels manageable and sustainable, giving you time to absorb the content, reflect and return to lessons whenever you need.

Yes. The BirthBliss Doula Academy self-paced online doula course is recognised by FEDANT and meets the standards required to begin working as a doula in the UK.
Completion of the course provides a strong, professional foundation in doula support, including person-centred care, boundaries, communication and trauma-informed practice. After completing the full BirthBliss Doula Academy course, including the required pre- and post-course module work, students receive a Diploma in Birth and Postnatal Doula Support. Doulas can then choose to continue towards Certified BirthBliss Doula status through our mentoring and certification pathway.
If you are planning to work outside the UK, it is worth being aware that maternity care systems, professional expectations and legal frameworks can vary from country to country. In some cases, a course designed specifically for your local context may offer more region-specific information.

Students who complete the full BirthBliss Doula Academy course, including the reflective pre- and post-course module work, receive a Diploma in Birth and Postnatal Doula Support.
Support continues beyond the course itself. After completing the training and receiving their diploma, many doulas feel ready to begin supporting families. Others choose to continue with additional guidance through the optional BirthBliss Certification Programme.
The Certification Programme offers structured mentoring, reflection and support as doulas move through their first birth or postnatal experiences. Participation is entirely optional and available at an additional cost.
Yes. Many doulas successfully train and build sustainable, fulfilling practices through online-only doula training.
The BirthBliss Doula Academy self-paced online doula course is carefully designed to feel personal, immersive and supportive, even though it is delivered online. The course includes evidence-based learning, real-world examples and a strong trauma-informed foundation to help you develop confidence and understanding as a doula.

The BirthBliss Doula Academy self-paced online doula course costs £648.
To make the course more accessible, you can choose to spread the cost over six monthly payments of £108. There is no additional charge for using the payment plan.

Your BirthBliss Doula Academy Certificate of Completion is issued once the full course fee has been paid
Access to course materials, online groups, mentoring sessions, or bonus content may be paused if payments fall behind
Full access is restored as soon as your account is brought up to date

When you enrol in The BirthBliss Doula Academy self-paced online doula course, you become part of a supportive and connected learning community. You are not expected to learn or grow into doula work on your own.
Online students have access to our private BirthBliss Facebook group, where trainees and qualified doulas connect, ask questions, share experiences and offer encouragement. This space is actively used and moderated to ensure it remains respectful, supportive and grounded.
You are also invited to regular live Zoom sessions, including our monthly Doula the Doula support calls. These sessions offer space for discussion, reflection, reassurance and learning alongside others who are on the same path.
In addition, there are optional online events and occasional in-person meet-ups throughout the year, giving you opportunities to deepen your connection and feel part of a wider doula community.
Many students say that this sense of belonging and ongoing support is one of the most valuable parts of training with BirthBliss. The community is there to support you not only during the course, but as you begin working with families and continue growing into your role as a doula.
